New life in the bush

While we were out in the bush one day recently, I photographed this single leaf. I guess it’s germinated from a seed but it looks very healthy. I was surprised how big it was when it was just one leaf. In other news, it’s another lovely day today. I have four cyclamen plants on a table under our patio roof. Because we’ve had rain, I’ve been thinking I don’t need to water them but of course, they’re under a roof so are not getting watered from the rain. Luckily I worked that out before they all died on me.

I've moved them now to sheltered spots in the garden. I hope they manage to survive at least a bit longer.

The single leaf/plant makes for a stunning photo. I have to say that until I read the last line of the post, I had H U G E admiration for you as a gardener. You see, I cannot grow a cyclamen to save my soul. But then I read the last line, and I know that I am in good company.

It is blowing a gale here and the cyclamens were getting blown about on the table they're on. I've now put them among other plants, hoping they'll be sheltered a bit. And they'll now get watered!!! Vince knows I don't like these simply because I can't keep them alive but they were really cheap so neither he nor I will worry too much if they die. I'd dearly love to keep them alive though.

Gardeners have a lot of thinking to do. Did you find out who that leaf belongs to?

I have no idea what it is. It might be a banksia or a gum leaf.

@judyev Nature is astounding. It’s also precariously balanced.

I found when it is sometimes rainy and sunny, the plants will grow really well. Perhaps this is a very natural way.

There had been good rains in the area so there were probably seeds germinating everywhere.

It's funny how things just pop up like that. It makes the landscape pop.

Often the first signs of life are tiny. This seems an exceptionally big leaf for just one.
