Every place has those special foods that locals can’t live without and visitors still dream about. It might be a family recipe, a street food favorite, or something only made during holidays.
For me, among many dishes, one I like to eat more is kind of a patty filled with sweet fillings with cashews, almonds, raisins, crushed coconut. The smell alone is enough to make me happy.

Oh this would be an interesting survey to take in my state of New Jersey. Probably most people would say pork roll (breakfast meat) in the form of a breakfast sandwich with an egg and cheese on a roll. It isn't widely available outside of NJ and I have no idea why.
I don't eat it though so I'd have to go with Trenton-style tomato pie. It is pizza but our own style. The crust isn't too thick or thin. As the name implies it is tomato-forward. I'm not an expert but the place that I worked at as a teen (and which is VERY popular around here) uses white cheddar instead of mozzarella for the cheese. Soooooooo good!
Celebrity chef Anne Burrell posted a picture of a bay on Twitter years ago and I immediately knew where she was--Lavalette! I've seen that view dozens of times! I recommended stopping at Maruca's which is just minutes away in Seaside Heights. She actually took my advice and visited it the next day. She posted "what's my favorite pie? Pizza pie!". Sadly she recently passed but it is a nice memory to have.

I can’t really think of something that is attributed to my state alone. The first thing I thought of was fried chicken, but that’s an American classic, not an Oklahoman classic. And now fried chicken is obviously world wide. Maybe a casserole called Dorito Chicken would fit.
