She’s really more far gone with dementia than we realized
We’re going to nudge her into a gerontologist appointment with mental assessment
Her furniture does not fit just like we told her it wouldn’t. It’s jammed in there with 60 or more boxes to unpack. She might let us buy her a smaller bed
She didn’t change her address to forward mail yet. She didn’t cancel her utilities. She didn’t establish new utility connection. We had made her a list but she didn’t do it
Her sister in law is being a mooch vulture wanting all the stuff that went fit in the new apartment. We’re trying to shield her to protect her
It’s all sad

How’s Hubby’s brother who was in full denial about her condition taking this?

It's a pity you're having to be responsible for her without the brother's help. It's like deja vu with the situation we had with my in-laws.

If you think that's the case, you'll need to get someone to be a power of atoenry in order to handle those things for her. She could just be overhwlemed with everything that's changing.

I don't know why some people have to be like that... I hope she lets you buy her a new bed, at least.
Getting old sucks!

Too bad there is no one who could be a companion to her and help her out,

That really does sound heavy and heartbreaking. It’s good she has you watching out for her and protecting her from being taken advantage of.
