When I was a kid in the village, tribal wars often occurred between villages. No one was spared: women, children, the elderly. Hence, villagers don't dare venture outside of the village's perimeter. If they do, they have to be with warrior escorts. As the children obtained education, they made the elders realize that nothing can be gained by internecine tribes. The elders and the young leaders then came to a solution - the tribal 'bodong' (peace pact) in which tribes come to an oral agreement of respecting each other and living in peace. A feast with native dances and food marked the momentous event. And that oral agreement was not on paper, nor was it notarized, but it was honored by the villagers and the village chief. Do you honor your oral promises to people?

That's good. War is not productive.
