Walmart Haul: August 17th, 2025

We had to run to Walmart to pick up something for the seventeen-year-old (because apparently teenagers need things every single day), and of course, I had a few items to grab while we were there. Naturally, we walked out with way more than we went in for. But since I got paid last night for some freelancing work, we had a little extra wiggle room. Still—going over budget hurts the soul every single time. Like, “Do I really need both kidneys? Could I sell one to cover this receipt?” kind of hurt. Whenever I spot honey-baked or brown sugar–glazed hams that aren’t priced like luxury handbags, I grab one for the freezer. They’re one of Chris’ favorite meals, and honestly, they’re a nice change of pace from the “Groundhog Day” lineup of dinners we keep repeating. So here it is, our haul in all its glory. Any guesses on how much this “just a few things” trip ended up costing? (Hint: Walmart won again.)

We shop Winco since it came here the groceries are cheaper. But I do like Walmart for other things that aren't food.

We don't have a Winco. The closest store close to that is Sams Club and on a good day its an hour and fifteen minutes away. We have Walmart, Piggly Wiggly or Winn Dixie or Dollar General Grocery for groceries. And Piggly Wiggly and Winn Dixie tend to be a little more expensive.
