Hill of Crosses is a place in Lithuania shortly after the Latvia border There’s a really cool story about how it began in 1830 and during wwii the Russians destroyed it. I can’t type long posts from my phone while traveling so for more information you’re going to have to google it Photo taken today by me

I don’t mind googling information. Over 100,000 crosses in 2006. Pope John Paul II held a mass there. The Soviets destroyed it three times and even had the KGB guarding it, but people kept putting crosses there.

It is a pity when places like this get destroyed, for no great reason. Glad it was rebuilt.
