Windows for dummies helped me get into the world of computers. It was mostly a trial and error method that I went for having crashed a couple of hard disks. Those days the size of the hard disks was just half gb. And today it runs into hundreds I must not forget a friend did help me out here and there. Today I can call myself computer savvy

That’s such a great journey—you really started at a time when computers were far less user-friendly, and learning often meant breaking things along the way. I remember l began with floppy disks, using them both as storage and to boot up the operating system. Then came the hard disks, which became the main storage and boot devices—what a huge leap that felt like back then. From those early days to today’s systems with hundreds of gigabytes, the change is incredible. Along the way, you learned not just the PC itself but also how to navigate and use different software, with plenty of trial and error (and even a few crashed hard drives). It’s even better that a friend helped you here and there. Now, all those experiences add up to something you can be proud of—you can truly call yourself computer savvy.

There are a lot of those 'dummy' books around on all sorts of subjects. They seem really good.

Computers are a boon that connects us to the world. We are self sufficient when it comes to keeping ourselves happily occupied.
