Hello everyone, how are you all doing? Well hopefully.
I thought I would share, for those who are interested, how Eli's first day of school went.
Drop off this morning was fairly easy, minus the wait to get in the parking lot.
Eli said he did fine with finding all his classes. Only hiccup really was losing his locker combination; but his best friend helped him tell a teacher so he could get it written down again.
He has at least one friend in all of his classes, except for music I think. Hopefully he'll make a new friend there. However, since it is an exploratory class he'll switch to a different one halfway through the semester. - Only 6th graders are doing that; they want them to try out all the different genres of the elective classes to see what they want to take in 7th and 8th grade.
Oh, and he was pretty happy with lunch - pizza. He could have that everyday if he wanted
Pick up after school wasn't as bad as I figured it would be, though I don't think I even need to go early since we only live a half mile away. Should he just walk to and from school? I think so, unless it was a really cold and snowy day.
Photo is mine of Eli

I'm glad things went well for Eli. I used to walk to school when I was a lot younger than he is. Is the neighborhood safe? Can he walk with a friend? That would be good exercise for him.

Oh really? Was it very far? I mean it's really only about 4 blocks to school... No friends to walk with though.... Don't know how safe it is...

@MommyOfEli2013 It was quite a distance. I remember when I was quite young walking through knee high s**w. A cop pulled up next to me and said there was no school. He gave me a ride home.

@LindaOHio That was nice that he gave you a ride home. That would be awful to walk that far to learn that school was cancelled.
