Mumbai has been facing heavy rains since a few days. Situation has turned worse with the Mumbai monorail getting stuck due to tech issues. There are about 100 passengers. The elderly and the children got suffocated forcing the passengers to break the window. The stranded persons are being rescued by a team of BMC. The ladder attached to the rail looks precarious. Heaven knows how children and the old will be rescued.

That's right. The old and the children had a tough time coming down from that height.

That's true. Passengers were terrified. Some children lost consciousness.

The good thing is it is not underground - then it would have been much worse. I hope help comes quickly.

Underground I think most of the passengers might have got suffocated.

I have seen it in news. My niece is married to a boy who works in Mumbai. He has to face the struggle while riding trains and buses. So far the situation of monorail is concerned, it happens every year especially in rainy season.

And the government is just mum without taking any special steps to stop this from happening.

@Shivram59 It shouldn't be as there's a great risk of life in such a condition.

This is nothing but lack of maintenance. The cause is fund mismanagement.
