When pet cats do not let you handle them

While we have had dogs that needed all atention, cats as I have often talked about do not need any help to manage their life as long as we provide them with food and a place to sleep Case in point is our Peppie boy He has hurt his paw and he is limping. He does not let me touch him He is busy licking it so much to say you can see what I am doing I do not need your help I so long to take care of him when he is sick but he has managed his own sickness. Peppie is six years old and I have never treated him nor has the Vet succeeded in doing anything for him So far so good
