Ube cake

My favorite dessert is ube (sweet yam) cake, just like in the picture. If you haven't tasted it yet, you may want to taste some. It has a mildly sweet, earthy flavor with hints of coconut and shallots. Its chewy, soft texture complements savory toppings, offering a delicious balance of sweet and umami. It's incredibly savory and gentle to the palate.
My friends no longer ask what flavor I like for my birthday cake because they know it already.

Ube cake does look and sound delicious! I’ve tried it before and I agree, it has that unique earthy sweetness that makes it stand out, though I don’t eat it as often. For me though, my favorite will always be chocolate cake—for the obvious reason that it’s rich, comforting, and simply irresistible. Nothing beats that classic chocolatey goodness, but I’ll never say no to a slice of ube cake when it’s around.

I've never had ube. I like a white cake with vanilla frosting. It's so good.
