Do you ever dye your hair?

I have never attempted hair coloring in my life. I've only had black hair since infancy. I've never dared to attempt it, even though some of my loved ones are urging me to. I might do it if my hair ever turned gray. I've heard that dyeing our hair can result in an allergic reaction. Did you try to change your hair color? Image Credit: isseda.com

That's funny! I guess I can still have the chance while it is not falling out yet.

I heard about it. One of my aunts told me to use a shampoo-type. I think I will try this.

I used the temporary dyes for Halloween costumes a few times but I've never dyed my hair to change the color. By 25 my hair was turning gray at the temples and by 40, it was silver everywhere but the back of my head. My hair is still brown there.

I am glad that you noticed the changes in your hair. Speaking of temporary dyes, I also tried this before.

@Vikingswest1 I think it is a good thing. Having hair treatment can damage a person's hair.

When Pretty was 13 or 14 years old, she asked if we could "trade" hair color. So we did. We dyed mine a dark blond and hers a dark red. They both looked good.

That was a quite fun to do. I tried my best not to indulge in. If it happens, I will try the shampoo-type hair dye as mentioned by @allknowing

@Shavkat With the ease of dying hair and the cheap price now for the shampoo-type dyes, there's little reason not to try it. I hope you enjoy it.

My hair is the part of my body that I have experimented with a lot of times in my life.I've had reddish blonde, ash brown, purple, and even blue, I've also had some green highlights. Today I am a 40-year-old mother of two children and I stopped making so many changes in my youth and now I only dye my hair black out of necessity to cover my gray hair.I consider that my hair was very noble to me but still looked very beautiful with all the things I invented with it even though I had a lot of care and expenses on products.Even so, my hair became a little thin and brittle and I had to stop doing a lot of treatment and even cut my hair very short so that it would grow back healthy and strong. I try to let it rest.

I've never tried it. My wife loves coloring her hair, but even with my hair turning gray, I've never felt the need to try it. I'm just too comfortable with how my hair looks and have no intention of changing its color.

@Shavkat My father used to color it black too because my mom always told him to. But after he retired, he lost interest in keeping it black.

My deceased father used to color his hair black when it became gray. Eventually, he gave up and let him feel the moment of having gray hair when he was still alive. Although my mom remained black-haired, and she got a few white hairs. I assumed that I got her genes with this concern.

@rsa101 I also remembered my mom kept on nagging my father to color it black. Eventually, he accepted the fact and embraced the normal aging process.

I am sure it is not quite fine if we keep on changing hair color at random, right?

Yes, I’ve changed my colour with no problems at all. They do urge you to do a patch test in case of allergies before doing the entire head. If in doubt don’t do it yourself the first time go to a hairdresser.

I used to do DIY hair coloring to save money by buying a coloring kit. However, I don't color my hair anymore. Maybe when I start seeing a lot of gray hair, I’ll consider coloring it black or dark brown.

I sometimes think it is a girl thing, but some men are into it now. Regardless, if I started to have a lot of white hair, I might indulge in this kind of idea. However, I might try the shampoo-type way of coloring my hair brown or maintain it black.
