Gangs in Boise?

Years back now Boise residents used to kid about anything negative happening around here was due to the onslaught of Californians moving to the area. Now I am reading where gangs originating in California have taken up residence here in Boise. One is a common name around here the Rollin' 40 Neighborhood Crips. Crips being a name I am more familiar with having heard it for years. They are into what authorities call the "Big Four": drugs, money, territory, and violence. Their territory is southwest of downtown and near a popular park, Ann Morrison. Then there is one I've never heard of: the Sinaloa cartel and it is known for trafficking wholesale amounts of fentanyl, heroin, meth, cocaine, and marijuana. They dominate Star and Eagle. Those two towns are small and are close to Boise. I don't like the knowledge that Boise is getting a reputation like other big cities around the nation. This is a capitol city and is getting larger all the time. I guess that means it is rather normal for gangs to move in. They have been here for years really but more concentrated in Nampa and Caldwell due to a larger population of Mexicans and their gangs taking up residence there, but that seems to have changed. I can remember years ago now visiting some people at their home, just a couple miles away from where I am now, and there was a drive by shooting. At that very house!. Very scary. That was years ago, and I thought such gang related activities were no longer a part of my community. Now I am wondering about that.

There is a town about 9 miles from us that constantly has shootings and other crimes. It's always a concern. We have a large population of Mexicans due to all the nurseries.

It's about the same here. It's sad to give the Mexicans a bad name, but they seem to bring that culture with them.

I consider that gangs are bands that often do not become completely extinct; there is always someone who makes reforms in his name, to those involved and to the rest of the band. But they never completely disappear. Unfortunately, there are always other young people wanting to form criminal organizations, and it is a cancer that society struggles to escape.

It's a family thing too. Entire families are a part of many of the gangs. Young people are into the family ways from an early age. All of some families are a part of them. They know no other way of life.

Sadly it seems that gangs are all around. I hear of them in places that I never would have dreamed of.

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to allow 20M illegals to enter the country under the last Administration.

Yes, Biden can't be guilty of it all though.

The truth is that in big cities it is inevitable that something like this will not form!

We just haven't really had them right here in Boise, just outlaying towns.
