A detective with the Louisville Police Department was just doing his job to protect and serve the citizens of his community after a fire happened in an apartment complex on Saturday afternoon August 23. The detective whose name was not released to the public saw smoke and residents fleeing the apartment before the firefighters and emergency personnel came to the scene as the detective cleared the residents to get out of harm's way. The cause of the fire was caused by a pile of discarded belongings that was left behind by a tenant that was evicted. The firefighters were able to put out the fire in about ten minutes. The fire had extended through a first floor window. One person and two adults were displaced in the apartment The detective was taken by an ambulance to be treated for smoke inhalation and a burn to his forearm. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/cri...
