Wow.

I went to the library for the first time in...I couldn't tell you when.
Now, this was the actual library, not the mini-library I've been going to for months while the main library was being remodeled.
Wow. I didn't think I would like it (my thought is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."), but I did.
It seemed a lot more spacious and brighter. Of course, since there was a lot of excitement about the "new" library, it was also noisier, but I'm guessing that may die down in time. There were, instead of the one main desk that there used to be, little check-out desks throughout the library (I saw maybe three--I'm guessing that they were elsewhere, too--as I didn't walk through the whole library). There were also little "study pods" everywhere. Maybe if they really are allowing more noise, I'm guessing that those are soundproof?
Anyway, aside from the noise, it was really nice.
There were also some ladies at tables in the front breezeway, giving out free food. I signed up for the newsletter or whatever it was--it was something called "Cool Petaluma". So along with three new books to read, I came home with a bag of food, too.
Now, it's 12:25, and I need to get something for lunch.
I hope all is well with you in your part of myLot land!

Sounds pretty promising to see how the library is going.
