Trick for shabby clothes

I must start washing all of my children's uniforms, which in the primary school stage here in Venezuela consist of: a white polo shirt and blue pants for boys or a blue pleated skirt for girls. White socks and black shoes. This is true for public and private schools. My children have worn out all their white polo shirts, they have lost their white color and my friend recommended a trick of hers Grandma, what is it? Soak white clothes in a little vinegar, a little baking soda, and blue bar soap. Let them soak overnight, then hand wash.We all know that even when there are many technologies in products there are hard to remove stains that the products cannot.Do you have any tricks to share for bleaching clothes?Photograph courtesy of mizu magazine.

For some stains and spots rinsing with hydrogen peroxide helps. It also helps to hang white things in the sun to dry. Or if you have lemon juice that helps too.

I had heard about hydrogen peroxide, but I don't know if it's the hydrogen peroxide for hair or the hydrogen peroxide we use to clean wounds.

The old tricks are the best . Before we had all these modern washing liquids, powders and pods and gels, people learnt how to use ‘ natural ‘ things…..cheaper and better for the clothes and the environment.

That's why I came to ask for advice and I think that in the past women took special care of their linen and they looked really well cared for. Now everything is different.

@shaggin Oh thanks for asking, well I'm still going all this week for therapy with the physiotherapist, I'm receiving current and heat and tomorrow the physiotherapist will evaluate the progress.

I have not yet put all the advice into practice because I am resting due to the knee injury, however I was also waiting for some of the advice to be completed to put it into practice.

I would say don't overdo it. They could end up turning yellow.

@snowy22315 Ah yes, that's why I don't like using bleach much. I was more about to buy Vanish, although I used it a couple of times and it helped a lot, but it didn't remove the stains enough.

If you plan to use bleach, you have to rub the clothes thoroughly with the bleach and soap, because if you just soak them, they will turn yellow instead of whiter.

You're right, and I've even noticed that when I do that process in the washing machine, it doesn't wash well and in fact it has become more tanned, and the fact that I use chlorine has caused small holes to form.
