Mid week blabbering....break time

Good morning from this side of the planet. It's 11 AM and I have a break for 30 minutes before my next and last session of the day starts. And that will be all for my work today at school. I have my afternoon sessions from 4-7:30 today.
I plan to pick up my new glasses before going home. This Saturday I had my long pending eye check up. Everything is fine and I just need new reading glasses as my power has increased a bit. Nothing concerning as it is a slight increase and very natural for my age. I had the same power for last seven years since I first started using reading glasses.
It's cloudy and getting darker. It has been so since morning. It has not rained so far since morning, but it can any moment. I am carrying my umbrella. I hope that it doesn't rain. The optical shop is not actually on my way back home, but just a detour into another street that will take extra five minutes of walk. I got a call from them that it is ready to be picked up. I will give them a call before starting so that they leave it on pick up window to avoid any delay It is paid and I just have to show the receipt and get it. It should just be another 5 to 10 minutes extra to go back home. All this should make up for some good 20 minutes walk.
I hope that the weather remains cloudy and cool but it doesn't rain. We had enough in the last few months. And yesterday, it poured for few hours in the evening.
It's already mid week. Another two days of work before we go for another weekend
Hope that all is well in your mylot corner. Stay happy and healthy
.

@arunima25 I was using glasses for reading for quite a few years and it is only in the last couple of years I do not feel the need probably because of that Lutein supplement I take

That's great to know that you don't have glasses. My grandparents didn't get any glasses at all. They passed away in their late 90s. I feel that it's a blessing and very rare these days. I might have got it from my mom's side where everyone got their reading glasses in their 40s. I got mine as a birthday gift at 41.
Yesterday, we had heavy pouring for few hours in the evening. The whole area outside our apartment was flooded. The city traffic woes have made headlines everywhere. It was frightening the way it poured. Our terrace was flooded despite a good drainage.

@allknowing Oh! I see. That sounds good. Was this supplement suggested for your eye power??

It is cloudy here, too. We got intermittent showers today. The temp stayed nice outside.
I hope you enjoyed the walk this afternoon and like your new glasses.
My glasses also increased in strength when I bought my current pair two years ago. Pretty and I both need to have our eyes checked again.

Glad to know that you have a pleasant and cool weather. Enjoy it. Winters are around the corner. And your part gets a really long and severe winter. It was raining when I left the work, but not too heavy. I could manage with my umbrella and finished things walking as I planned. In fact, I enjoyed it. Later in the evening, it just poured heavily for hours. The city's flooded areas and traffic woes are in headlines everywhere.
I hope all goes well with your eye check up next month.
My new glasses are good, I am getting used to it. But I strongly feel that I should go for progressive like my earlier one and keep it as spare one. It's good only for reading, not convenient while working with my students and on laptop. I will order a progressive one this weekend.

@arunima25 I'm glad you weren't caught in flooding on your way home. That would worry me.
Thank you. I'm thinking I need new glasses again with an upgrade in strength. Things are blurry even up close wearing the glasses. I also kept my previous pair in the car, just in case something happens to the new ones I've been wearing.

@DaddyEvil! I akways keep a spare pair. You never know. My elder daughter has to use the glass all the time. So, we have one extra pair for her. And many a times it has come handy.

I hope the rain held off for you. I'm going to need new glasses when I get my eyes checked next month.

@arunima25 Yes my eyes definitely have changed. I wish I knew where my umbrella was. It's going to rain all day today.

It did rain when I came out. But not so heavy. I could walk with my umbrella and could get things done. In the evening, we had heavy pouring for hours together. And the whole area was flooded. We got the glimpse on the local news channel.
I hope that all goes well with your eye appointment next month. Do you feel that there might be a change in the power? I was feeling some inconvenience lately with my old glasses.

@Rimps85 Oh! I see. But if you are advised to use them regularly, you should.. Else the power keeps increasing. You will slowly get used to it.
