Have You Attended Your High School Reunions? / myLot

I graduated high school in 1983. Yeah, I know, I'm old. I went to one reunion in about 1985 so it had only been two years. I wasn't thrilled about it. People were still clicky and the popular people were still the popular people. One of my classmates voted my best friend "most successful" because she had lived in London for 3 months and had a Bachelor Degree. This is my jealousy talking, but I've been to 104 countries, written 8 books, and have 4 Masters Degrees. I wonder what the classmate would think of that! I really don't plan on going to any of the reunions. I didn't have anything in common with my classmates then and I certainly wouldn't know them now. I haven't kept in touch with any of them. What about you? Do you go to your high school reunions? Have you kept in touch with your classmates?

I was bullied (as they call it today) in my high school (actually, all during school except for those magical years in Daytona Beach), so why would I want to go to South Carolina for the 50th anniversary of getting away from that??

I hated school so no, I have never been keen to go. I know there was a ten-year reunion but I avoided that and haven't heard anything since, but then I don't know how anyone would contact me anyway. I have a couple of friends I still keep in touch with and see now and then.

Nope, once I left high school, I never went back. My best friends were elsewhere and busy raising families, and I was not friends with everyone in my class like they show in the movies.

We were supposed to have one at the end of this month but it’s all gone very quiet so I’m not sure if it’s still on. I was apprehensive about it but I posted on here and most people were encouraging me to go. I’ve not been to one before .

I went to the 10 year reunion because my SIL wanted to go. That was in 1975. They are having the 60th reunion this year. I won't be going. I keep in touch with several of my classmates via email, greeting cards and Facebook. There were 1,000 kids in my graduating class.

I am regularly attending our school grand alumni homecoming every December. I don't mind the successes of others even if they are showy or boasting about it. I just enjoy the night and talk to people within my level.
