So, it appears that we have two winners of the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot. One in Missouri and the other one in Texas. Even though the winners will split the prize, that's still an enormous amount of money for each winner to enjoy.
That will essentially amount to around $246.2 million after taxes, if the lump sum is chosen, which is nothing to shake a stick at.
There were also 2 $1 million winners in Illinois, among several other states. I played in Illinois and Missouri and have not checked my tickets yet. So, I suppose there's a chance I could be a $1 million winner in Illinois, or I am holding the big prize ticket in Missouri.
We shall see.
Have you ever wondered which states win the most jackpots? It just so happens that Indiana is the winningest state with 39 wins since the lottery began. Next to them are Missouri and Minnesota with 31 wins each. Pennsylvania has won 20 and California has won 17.
Perhaps the next time the jackpot gets this big, it might something to consider when planning a little road trip.
Did you buy any Powerball tickets? Any smaller winners among us? Or are you holding the big one?

I don't know if we won a smaller prize. Cousin #2 has the tickets.
