Sunday Supper

After a somewhat lazy and relaxing Sunday, it is time to think of supper. My husband took out a package of boneless steak and let it thaw. He browned it in the instant pot and added the potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and seasonings to it. This pot does a great job and for a stew using a 2 pound package of beef, it takes about an hour's time. And that hour has come and gone. It is just keeping warm now, that is when the favours all gel together and the magic happens. It is still at least another hour until supper time, but he has it all completed. What are you preparing for supper tonight?

That sounds SO tasty! I had to review a side dish, and so I had it. It was surprisingly tasty. I think it was Turkish.

@Juliaacv Inknoe the first word was Yesil, which I looked up, and means “green” in Turkish. It had lentils, bulgur wheat (I think) and a lot of spices (which were provided). I never thought I’d like lentils.

It was nice. It was the first stew since last winter/early spring. I ordered another hind quarter of beef, so we have to eat up what is left before they call with the new order. And I think that is possible as it is 4-6 weeks and since I asked for a quarter from a smaller animal, it may take longer.

I enjoy lunchmeat also, but I don't care for bread, so my 'sandwiches' are usually on whole wheat wraps. Supper was nice tonight, I appreciated my husband making it and I did the clean up afterwards.

I love my Instant Pot! Your dinner sounds great. Tonight I'm going to make the chicken shwarma sheet pan dinner that I had planned for last night.

I had to replace my brand named instant pot last winter. The board lit up flashing and wouldn't shut down, so had to unplug it and replace it. I went with another brand, but the concept of how food is prepared in it is exactly the same. Your supper sounds delicious. I don't like this time of the weekend, gearing up to end it and wake up tomorrow and start another workweek. Ugh. I just suggested to Ron that it felt like our weekend went by in like 10 minutes. I know that the workweek won't feel like that.
