Lava Tree irritation.

My wife picked up an irritating
new habit on our trip to the County of Cork, and it’s okay for me to say that because she finds it irritating too.
When we were out and about she felt that she had to use every public convenience that she saw in case there wasn’t another one for some distance. Of that’s quite sensible and many of us were brought up on that principle, but it gets a bit annoying.
In Southern Ireland, unlike in Northern Ireland, most petrol (gas) stations have toilets that can be used even by non customers. This is wonderful, but my wife just had to go every time she saw one, and if she only noticed one as I was driving past it I had to do an about turn and let her pay a visit. Aggghh!
The reason that most petrol stations in the north are lacking in facilities is that in the 70s - 90s many were bombed by politically motivated ne’er-do-wells who left their death-dealing bombs in the lavatory and made their getaway before the bomb went off. So when the petrol stations were rebuilt the owners neglected to include such facilities.
On the trip from Portlaoise to Larne today I lost count of the number of times we stopped ‘just in case’.

I avoid public restrooms like the plague. I'd wait until I got home if the facilities weren't clean.

I would go only if I had the urge. You need to ask your wife that.
The title of your post needed some thinking
