Appointment Notes - September 2025

Hey there, how are you all doing? I shared last week about going to my first appointment of September which was to my endocrinologist. I said I'd share how it went that night, but never got around to doing so because I shared about my tattoo instead. Anyways - how did the appointment go? The doctor was very pleased as my A1c went down from 7.4 to 6.5! I was expecting maybe 6.9 at the lowest because of my CGM average was around there. The doctor wants me to work on getting it under 6 because that is where he'll want it if I get pregnant. I know I will probably have go give up a lot of my carbs to do that, which I would anyways if I got pregnant. I'd focus on protein and try to cut out most carbs except for potatoes occasionally. My weight did go down a tiny bit (less than a pound) - but better than it going up as has been the trend. I guess the trulicity shot has helped a lot. I go back in December - unless I get pregnant then he'll want me there monthly I think. I was surprised because he didn't want to do any other tests. It's been a while since my other health info has been checked. I was fine with that, but curious if anything else has improved. Photo via Pixabay

I am doing the best I can to enjoy my evening working on sharing news stories and completing surveys.

I don't know how it is down honestly, still ate as I did when it was 8,9...and plus.

An improvment is an improvment. I'd take it.

@MommyOfEli2013 If it's normal ranges, they'll say you're no longer diabetic, but who knows. I'm happy so long as they're not complaining.

@kaylachan Oh no they won't, I will always be diabetic. Just at that point it is controlled. If I got off meds, or ate horrible again (okay truthfully that never changed) I'd go back to higher numbers.

Yeah, but will it ever be good enough? If I get it to normal ranges then the doc will say it is "too low" probably.
