Which do you prefer; variable work shift or regular work shift

I do a variable work shift where I work afternoon to night shift for one week and morning to afternoon shift on the following week. I am kind of confused as to whether this system is better or not as good as having a regular morning to evening shift. Which do you prefer?

I just work mornings and that suits me. Although I would change to three days a week.
