The Brains of Men and Women are Different

I found it interesting about the differences of the male and female brains. The size of the brain has nothing to do with intelligence. Albert Einstein had a smaller than average brain. The volume of certain regions of the brain differs between men and women. It seems that women have more volume in the prefrontal cortex and men have more in the occipital region. This may have to do with hormones and genes. Men and women are not equally vulnerable to mental illnesses. Women are more apt to be diagnosed with depression and anxiety where men suffer more from substance abuse.

That’s interesting. I wonder why more men suffer with substance abuse ? I think our brains are wired up differently that’s for sure. I guess it goes back to what we were designed for …..child baring/ home making …..and hunter gatherer ( I know people will disagree ….)

Because they are different and respond to things differently. Less internalizing, I think.

@Fleura maybe yes , certainly if females are thinking more of nurture and family they won’t be inclined to be free spirited thrill seekers.

That is what I thought that men and women are different in terms of behavior based on the differences of brains.
