Why Do I Always Beat The Odds?

Why can't I be the rare minority odds to win the Powerball lottery? Case in point. I just found out that I have Hashimoto's Disease, which is an auto-immune disorder. Only 5% of people get Hashimoto's. Why did I get so "lucky" to get it? Well, for one thing, women are 7 times more likely to get Hashimoto's than are men. Especially middle-aged women. Somehow it seems like I am always the person who has the "rare" symptoms or side-effects of a condition or a medication.

You and me, both! I have Graves' Disease, which is the opposite of Hashimoto's Disease. But I get the rare parts. Instead of Graves' Disease making me skinny like most people with it, I gain weight. Instead of my eyes bulging out of my eye sockets, my eyes swell closed. I never win riches, either.

I know what you mean. I didn’t know until I looked it up, but IgM deficiency is a rarity rate of 0.03%. Maybe we should get together and play the lottery!

My nurse on Wednesday was telling me his wife had Hashimoto’s disease. She’s got it “under control” now. Hopefully, your doctors can really help you.

the dice are in the correct position so that the numbers that come out are as expected.

@looeyville But if you won the powerball you would be too busy counting the money to be bothered coming on here.
