He Took His Emotional Support Alligator to Wal-Mart

People are ridiculous. If you want to have an exotic or unusual pet, fine. But don't call it an emotional support animal. An alligator is NOT an emotional support animal. Some old dude in Pennsylvania says he's been taking his "emotional support alligator" to Wal-Mart with him for years. He dresses it up in little sweaters and costumes. He does NOT put a muzzle on it. Some lady took photos of him with the alligator in his basket and reported it saying it was a danger and a hazard. Wal-Mart had to issue a statement that while they appreciate all emotional support animals, you can only bring in the ones that are on the approved list. Alligators are not.

The animal is a hazard to the owner as well plus I hate seeing animals that should be in the wild being treated this way.

No Alligators are not emotional support animals. To even think they are is just stupid.

That’s irrationally funny to me. I mean, it’s also ridiculous, but good lord.

@looeyville It's the people around him who will need emotional support if that thing does what comes natural to alligators. People need to remember that they are part of a society and there's more than just them in the world. This man is clearly not well and needs psychiatric help, not a wild animal.

Emotional support animals. Sorry folks. It's not actually a thing. In fact, the entire idea of it has become more than...ridiculous. And where does it end, really? I've heard of turtles and ducks as emotional support animals. As I say all the time, the world's simply gone mad.

Emotional support or not, that’s definitely not safe for anyone around. Good thing the store finally made it clear.
