Festive Scent is Already in the Air

The most popular festive days of Bengal are just around the corner. The Durga Puja is coming quite early this year. The first day, Mahalaya, is on the 21st September, Sunday. And the very next Sunday, on 28th September, the joyous worship of the Goddess will begin with Sanskrit chants and the beating of Dhaks ( drums ). The children of our foster home will be allowed to stay with their relatives during the festive days. They are eagerly looking forward to those thrilling days. However, they have to go to their schools for some more days before the puja holidays begin. But the festive scent is already in the air .
