In my previous employment we usually have free APE or annual physical examinations. We have ourselves subjected to various medical test to assess our health conditions. Now that I have retired l tried getting health insurance for myself and one of the privileges of having one is l can avail for an executive checkup within the year l am covered. I took that and scheduled test last Monday. Boy did I not expect to the special treatment I received from the clinic where l was assisted by a medical staff every step of the way and was even given a free meal during the course of the examination. I didn’t expect this but satisfied with the service they provided. Everything went smooth compared to when l was still on my employee APE I navigated it myself through many test and lab test I neef to take without any help from anyone in the clinic.

@rakski The results Are out. As it appears that my medication is working fine, as the level It appears that my medication is working properly, as the levels have remained consistent since my last check. What was new in the results was my prostate enlargement, which the doctor assured me was a normal part of getting older. The doctor prescribed medication and scheduled a test in December to see if it would be effective.

@luisadannointed I think if you see yourself healthy enough maybe you dont need one for now but eventually you’ll appreciate that when the call of aging comes in.

We had that too but not everything was coverfed, for example a kidney profile

I think only bloodoworks were done from me. Maybe if they find something in my blood will I need to further my examination on a prticular problem. For now the basic things were taken from blood, urine and stool then I had resting and working ECG done to monitor the condition of my heart.

@allknowing I think that was already covered in my bloodwork, which included SGPT and SGOT for my liver, BUN and Creatinine for my kidneys, cholesterol, and FBS for my sugar levels. From that, they can determine which areas need medical attention.

@rsa101 What you need to add each year are cholesterol and kidney profiles

It was a unique experience to undergo such a checkup. Usually, during physical exams, you are handed a paper with instructions and left to navigate the clinic on your own from one lab or test to another. However, this time I was guided by a personal assistant who directed me where to go after each test, and we were even provided breakfast once everything was completed.
