Portugal ruled Goa for many years. there is a place in Fontaine where there are colourful houses. There was a time when Portuguese used to paint the houses every year. The corporation or municipality used to do it. Many bollywood films are shot in this place.

Some towns in Greece have beautifully painted houses too. They are very colourful. Many of the stone houses in Ireland have different coloured doors. As rows of houses can all look alike, having different coloured doors is a very good idea.
