This is another book I received as an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for a review. Why were townspeople being murdered? What did they have in common? Why did someone view them as threats?
I'm not exactly sure why this has such a bad rating. Maybe because it's a bit awkward throughout. As though it's the first book written by the author. I have no idea if it is. But, it was intriguing, to be sure. Maybe a little bit over the top, but it is something that has happened throughout history here and there. The only thing I didn't get was just what WERE the secrets they were protecting? What did those numbers represent? I didn't grasp how a town's heritage needed to be protected with death. It brought to mind today's political scene. But, also made me think of a wild west town with leaders who had their hands in every pot. They were finally brought down. I've read better, yes. But, I've also read a lot worse, including one I couldn't even finish. It's still an interesting read.

Who is the author? There are several books with that title.
I've started several books that I couldn't finish for one reason or another...
How have you been doing?
