What do you do?

Lately, I’ve noticed I forget things more often, and it can be frustrating. To combat this, I’ve started building routines and writing things down, lists, notes, and calendar reminders really help. I also try to keep my mind active by reading, doing puzzles, and learning new things, even if just a little each day. Staying physically active and getting enough sleep has made a difference, too. I’ve found that talking with friends and staying socially engaged keeps me sharper and lifts my mood. I remind myself to be patient. I know that forgetfulness is natural, but I can take steps to manage it gracefully. What do you do?

Uhm... forgetfulness can be a sign that you have a vitamin deficiency, a thyroid issue or a side-effect of some medication you're taking (or some supplement you've added to your daily regimen). You should talk to your doctor first to rule out those possibilities.

You can take walnuts and meditate, especially in the morning when there's total silence to keep your memory sharp. That's what I do. I also do yoga.

@Jenaisle You can watch it on some YouTube. Specifically live sessions and practice it at home.

You are doing all that I am doing and that's what my doctor also advised. I had such good memory , people called me someone with elephant's memory. But I started noticing forgetfulness and brain fogging after my Covid infection. These things help.

Same here. I’m doing the same things, and my doctor recommended them too. COVID did that to me, too. I thought it was only me.

@Jenaisle No, you are not alone. Though they don't back it with scientific studies, but I keep meeting people with similar complaint post covid infection.

When I forgot things I need to do for myself like bringing my handkerchief before leaving the home , I feel frustrated and I feel tired because I forgot something important to bring outside of the house.

I totally get that. forgetting small essentials can really throw off your day. Perhaps keeping a checklist by the door can be helpful? It’s a simple trick that works wonders.

@Jenaisle I don't think checklists whenever I need to go outside of the house as long as I'm relaxed I feel that I have to go now.

I believe most of us in this day and age are prone to forgetfulness. I believe that what you're doing is good practice for those of us who are experiencing similar problems. I believe that as long as you are aware of it and take steps to prevent it from deteriorating, you are still mentally healthy.

You might need to also see a doctor about a vitamin deficiency. What you’re doing is great, and just might be natural aging (I do it too!), but perhaps to be cautious you should get a checkup.

Being a writer and poet and blogger online I keep training my brain and I have notebooks where I write down everything I do each day and remind myself of what things I have to do, Otherwise I might be posting too many repetitions or utter nonesense

That’s a smart habit! Writing things down helps sharpen creativity and avoid repetition. It’s great that you’re so intentional with your process; it keeps your work fresh and thoughtful. Staying organized really makes a difference, especially when juggling multiple creative roles, such as blogging, poetry, and writing. Keep it up!
