Getting Closer to Being Free

Mylotter friends, today I officially sent in my resignation letter to my new boss at Goodwill via email. It was originally going to be on Monday. But due to a glitch in ADP, it was postponed until today, since all the pre-hire paperwork was done and turned in yesterday afternoon. I'll hand my soon-to-be former boss a paper copy of my letter tomorrow, if he needs it for records, along with my email copy, to send to HR. And I also called him to let him know. Since he saw me a few weeks ago after I changed for an interview after work, he sorta knows I was planning to exit sooner than later, even if I didn't get that said job. As the countdown starts to ticks down, I've contact HR to send me a verification letter to send to my bus company, Akron Metro, even if Acme Fresh Markets doesn't send out offer letters even via ADP. When I got the letter, I sent it to my bus; and it had been added to my profile. A week from Friday, I'll be calling for Monday October 6th, though the schedule isn't posted until 2 PM on Fridays. So I hope I can take a photo of it during my break, or before my shift, depending on the time, and call it in for scheduled Saturday/Sundays/Mondays. The latest I can work on weekdays is until 10 PM, Saturdays are until 8:30, and Sundays (though it'll be 1-6 after church), until 6 PM. Just for the agreed 24 (not 28) work schedule, which won't affect my benefit money, though I'll get paid 11.15 an hour and paid weekly on Fridays. The next few days would be the roughest,since I'll let letting my co-workers know, along my newest assistant manager and keyholders with a heavy heart. I'm hoping to staying in touch with some of my friends via text, and plan to visit Goodwill as a former employee, and a customer and donor from time to time to stay hi. As the wheels are set in motion for my final five days at Goodwill, starting tomorrow, I'm just waiting to get my work schedule between now and next Thursday. (As for volunteering at the zoo and the shelter, it all depends on what days I have off. It's up in the air, after I do Halloween Brew next weekend at the zoo.) I've been waiting to do this for a long time, a year to be exact, as I'm finally getting closer to being free.. Will keep you posted later this weekend.
