Do Have a Favorite Actor or Actress?

I don't know any of these new actors and actresses these days.
I recognize some of their names, many I do not, but I have know clue who they are.
Names that come to mind include Jake Gyllenhall or Chris Pine. I have no idea who they are.
I'm 60 years old and most of the actors and actresses I know are old now or dead.
I do enjoy Nicolas Cage and Debra Winger when they act.

Good question actually, and I am like you...many of the newer ones I just don't know, and no one new really seems to be unique enough to me to stand out for me.
Actors I have always admired are guys like Walter Matthou, Sean Connery, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Dudley Moore, Chevy Chase, Richard Dreyfuss and others. Although, do I consider anyone a favorite? I don't. They all have their unique qualities which makes me admire them individually.
On the female side, standouts were actresses like Sigourney Weaver, Kathy Bates, Sandra Bullock, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Sally Field, and others.
Granted, there are many female actresses I can watch all day long, that don't have to be good, so long as they are hot. lol

Now that being said, I don't like Tom Hanks personally or his politics, but I've got to give him credit for his acting chops. Females would include Julia Roberts (maybe), Jennifer Lawrence (from Louisville, KY).

@LooeyVille Lithgow is another excellent actor. Indeed. He would be on my list as well as some of the ones you already mentioned in your post like Nicholas Cage. As for Tom Hanks, I have always liked him, but I vehemently disagree with his politics. Same would go for Robert DeNiro.
