Truths and Roses Have Thorns About Them

That was a famous quote by American writer, philosopher and naturalist, Henry David Thoreau. It's just a more poetic way of saying, "Sometimes the truth hurts, but there is beauty in it even when it sometimes pricks you."
What brings this quote to mind is the recent report about an ICE agent who threw a woman to the ground in front of her children while apprehending her.
The media loves this, of course. Why? Because it can detract from the real story and give the media something else to point to and talk about other than what the real story happens to be.
ICE is doing their job and rounding up ILLEGAL immigrants, not permitted by law to reside in this country, and sending them home.
The way the media, and others, will paint this story is that this sort of thing is exactly what Trump wants his agents to do, to round people up through whatever means necessary, and to make it hurt.
What Trump wants is clear, despite what the media tells you. He wants to protect our borders, and he wants to protect American interests and the American people. Granted, not everyone entering the country illegally are bad people. At the same time, they have still broken the law, and by definition, regardless of their intent, they are criminals.
Do we give passes to a struggling father who robs a convenience store to feed his kids during a financial crisis? No. We arrest them and charge them with robbery.
Why you broke the law has no bearing on whether or not there will be consequences. You broke the law. End of story. Will the cop let you off for going 20 over on the highway just because you say, "I was going to be late for work and my points are maxed out, and if I am late today, they will fire me."
Again. No. Your sob story does not erase or cancel the law or remove your personal responsibility to accept the consequences for having broken it.
The problem is that people are already painting this story with a broad brush and trying to say that Trump approves of the actions this ICE agent took in this one case.
The fact is, it's not true.
From the news:
“The officer’s conduct in this video is unacceptable and beneath the men and women of ICE. Our ICE law enforcement are held to the highest professional standards and this officer is being relieved of current duties as we conduct a full investigation,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to The Hill.
Trump expects his agents at ICE, and in every other agency, to act according to the law. And he will hold his agencies to the letter on that, just like he will hold the illegals on that.
As Trump stated more than once during his first presidency, on the campaign trail, and throughout his second term, "We are the party of law and order." That goes for everyone, including those serving to protect us.
This agent acted alone, according to his own chosen course of action. His actions were not the result of a direct order to conduct apprehensions in this manner. That's the truth. And that's the story.
It has absolutely nothing to do with ICE or what they are doing.

I couldn't have said it any better, the truth hurts but the lies can be even WORSE if you
let things go as they have been doing & I agree with everything trump is doing to get this
country BACK like it's suppose to be & taking all the evilness' out everyday.

@porwest from what I've been seeing common sense doesn't
exist in their lives just impulsive off the wall thoughts.

@thedevilinme Then enjoy your miserable life. If it is that way for you...it's your bed. No one else made it that way.
