When I saw this word pujoy on the full page ad of a renowned newspaper I wondered if it was not a printing mistake. It wasn't. It's a word coined by combining two words namely, pujo and joy. These are the days when the people of the state abandon themselves in joy and revelry. Everything becomes costly. People in general buy new dresses for this occasion. And dresses get costlier year by year.
I got a huge kick on my hind negotiating to rent a car for a short trip (less than 10 km). Everyone of them demanded more money than what was normal.
If you went around visiting those pujo pandals, you would understand what I mean to say. Whoever heard of the car rental rates they said it was crazy.

Festivals have lost their original meaning.
Festivals of all kinds, hues and religions have become a tool in the hands of shopkeepers and marketing experts to cajole people into buying, buying at "Great Offers".
And well, 10% off on an Item originally costing 100 in a year would be better than 25% off on an item going up to 150!
But well, that is how things are going!

That's because pandal owners/club owners charge them in thousands for their collections inspite of getting in lakhs from the CM.
