Trophies and medals

Personally, I believe trophies and medals can be pawned, but it depends on their material and sentimental value. If a trophy is made of real gold or silver, a pawn shop might accept it for its melt value. However, most trophies are made of inexpensive materials and hold more emotional than monetary worth. I once tried pawning an old sports medal, but the shop said it wasn’t valuable. Still, in tough times, people might pawn these items out of necessity. While it’s possible, I think it's heartbreaking to part with something that represents hard work, memories, and personal achievements. Your thoughts on this?

Trophies are priceless items that should be taken care of.

I haven't seen a trophy and medal made of real gold or a valuable metal here in our country yet. It is more of the achievements they represent

I think their presence in your home tells something about what that house has achieved. It reminds you of something that you are proud of what they symbolize to you. It was never meant to be monetized that is why some trophies or medals just looked like an ordinary piece of metal or wood that May looked liked a gold but they are just a reminder that one time in your life you have achieved something good. It’s just a reminder that you can be that person and achieve something once again.

I agree. It speaks of the family's perseverance and diligence and of course talent.

I would have a hard time parting with a trophy or medal of a loved one more than my own. There are some of my own that were special to me up until say ten years ago, but now I wouldn’t care if they were gone.

I'm a sucker for sentimentality. I would hate to part with something that meant a lot to me.

That's understandable. Me, too. It's part of the family history.
