It's always good to keep it in the same place. I do that with my car keys!

I used to, but now what I do before I get up is mentally take stock of where I put it before I stand. That is working for now. Because I had been leaving it on the arm of the couch, but then would forget to put it there. I try to make that place still the couch arm, but if I’m in a hurry sometimes it doesn’t make it there.
