What are your thoughts about to-do lists?

I was never a fan of a to-do list. I always thought that if you really wanted to do something, you did not need to put it on a to-do list to get it done, and that the only reason for a to-do list was to simply remind you of something you needed to do in case you forgot about it. Now I’m thinking that perhaps a to-do list is a good idea as it potentially can serve as a motivator to get things done that you need to do when you’re not feeling up to it. What are your thoughts on this matter?

I think it depends on the person, and what kind of lifestyle they lead. If their active and busy, all the things that need to get done in a day, Some people get overwhelmed with all the to-do's that need doing. And, sometimes it helps for it to be written out. You can check off things you've done, and it helps you know what you have left to do.

There are things that you don’t really need to put on the to-do list. Things like have breakfast, brush teeth, etc..

@lovebuglena No, you don't. Although, I had a niece who'd over schedule herself to the point, she had to schedule time to take a shower, otherwise she'd forget. But, to-do lists are handy for things that aren't part of muscle memory. And adls, are part of muscle memory. But, things like cleaning the house, or orgnizing doctor's appoitments around work schedules might be a use-case.

Having something to jot down writing ideas is a good idea. A few days ago, I had an idea for a lyric, but I did not write it down. Even though I repeated it a few times it didn’t stick because when I went to write it down finally, I could not remember what the words were.

I always make lists, especially for the cousins to do. It's satisfying to cross things off when they're done.

a to-do list is good for those that have a hard time remembering stuff & it helps to stay on top of things that needs to be done at a certain time & keeps things in order that needs to get done, I put my to do list on a dry erase board so I don't forget where I put it every time I pick it up.
