She was 79. She was known for her roles in The Godfather, Somethings Gotta Give, Annie Hall, and First Wives Club. I've only seen her in Father of the Bride. (I know I know yeah I've never seen The Godfather) It was not publicly known if she was dealing with a health issue. She hadn't been seen since April 2024 so it certainly could be a possibility. In any case what a loss for Hollywood. As a Friends nerd I have to say that my favorite Diane Keaton reference is when Chandler found the tuxedo that he wanted to wear at his wedding. He was borrowing one from Ralph Lauren because Rachel worked there. Initially he chose one that Val Kilmer wore and he was so excited because it was Batman's tux. Eventually he discovered that it was worn at the "At First Sight" premiere. He went back and chose another one. He asked Rachel who wore it. She said "I don't want to tell you". He insisted and finally Rachel told him that it was worn by Diane Keaton. Sleep well Diane Keaton.

I loved Father of the Bride, but First Wives Club is one of my favorites. I was sad to see this news a few hours ago.

That’s okay, I’ve never seen Annie Hall. She was brilliant in The Godfather.
