Recently I posted about Elvis actually having been born with blonde hair but dyed it black. I have since found some more facts having to do with him that I thought you might enjoy:
Elvis recorded over 600 songs, but he never wrote one of them. His label did demand that certain song writers give up 50% of their authorship for any songs he recorded. He sometimes did as many as 40 takes of a single track until it was perfect. Elvis never learned to read or write music.
A stamp featuring Elvis Presley was issued by the United States Postal Service on January 3, 1993. It went on to become the most popular commemorative stamp of all time. Some 500 copies, three times the usual run, were printed by the USPS.

I did not know that Elvis never wrote any of his songs.

Colonel Tom was a scoundrel like that (making songwriters give 50% to him…I mean, Elvis), but it wasn’t the first time. There were “managers” who, in return for helping get a song published, took cowriting credit. Webb Pierce was particularly bad at changing one word and claiming half the authorship.

I always wondered why Elvis never tired to write his own material or at least the lyrics,
