I Burned The Bacon

United States

For whatever reason I had it in my head this morning that bacon is supposed to take 3 minutes in the microwave. It's supposed to take 1 minute 30 seconds. Needless to say I burned the bacon. Thankfully the smoke detector didn't go off. I'm really embarrassed and hope the husband doesn't yell at me when he wakes up.

It still looks edible. I had clouds of smoke coming from the microwave when I made a mini pizza. My microwave is a lot stronger than the instructions called for. Fortunately the smoke alarm didn't go off.

You must have a powerful microwave. Mine takes one minute per slice. Look at you..all cooking and stuff . Accidents happen. They look edible, if those are your slices

If I cook bacon in the microwave, which I rarely do, 5 minutes is cooked to perfection for me. But it does depend on the wattage of your microwave.

@LooeyVille Pre-cooked $30 per pound bacon? I'll get back to you after I replace this gasket I just blew.

@porwest Well I was using pre-cooked microwaveable bacon (Insert @Porwest lecture here where it's more expensive than cooking regular bacon in the microwave) so I goofed up

I think that’s a capital offense, wasting bacon by burning it. And I didn’t know there was any such thing as “burned bacon.”

@LooeyVille — how is that a problem? People are paying $40 for Yankee Candles that smell like bacon.

No that was a stock picture. I really did burn it to a crisp. But I ate it anyway because I like my bacon about burned anyway.

That was a simple mistake anybody could have done. I hope your husband doesn't yell at you EVER - that's abusive.
