Do you like lavender ? Do you find it calming ?

I quite like the smell of lavender but I have to admit that I very often find it very overpowering.
It is well known for its calming properties.
Anyway, all that said, today I bought another Christmas present. I managed to find some lavender hand wash. I already have lavender talc.
They are for my Moms neighbour, who, as you can tell likes lavender.
What do think of lavender and it’s calming properties ?

Vince puts lavender oil on a hankie and puts it under his pillow at night. He swears that it helps him sleep.

I tried lavender spray on my pillow …..just too strong a smell for me.
We had some growing in the garden and I would put a few sprigs in a vase ….after one day I had to move it ….too powerful.
Maybe it’s just me as it seems to work for others.

@Traceyjayne Certainly some scents can be way too powerful. Vince doesn't like jasmine because of its strong smell.

I am not crazy about any floral scents really..but I think lavender does have calming properties.

I love the smell of lavender. I used to make little bags if them to place in the bed.

I find most scents overwhelming for me unless they are very mild. I've never tried lavender for its calming qualities.

I know it can be overpowering, but when used in the right way, it's perfect. I have a lotion with lavander in it. When I use it, it does kind of have a calming affect.
