Bringing back a particular memory

Yesterday a friend was showing me an art project involving industrial robots, and from the recesses of my mind that unearthed a memory of a performance we watched almost 20 years ago. A French dancer, Philippe Priasso, from the company Beau Geste, performed a pas de deux with a mechanical digger/ excavator, in a performance titled 'Transports Exceptionels'. The performance toured around the world and – presumably to avoid having to transport a huge heavy vehicle everywhere – used different vehicles in different places. I guess they must have hired one wherever they went, but presumably brought their own driver/operator, although I don’t know the details and the driver never seemed to get any credit for their performance, which you have to admit is pretty skillful as well! Having looked into it now the driver seems to be Eric Lamy. I know I have a photo somewhere of this event, but can’t lay my hands on it right now. You can watch a video from the tour though. Did you ever see this?

That is amazing what they can do with a digger.

This is the first I've heard of this. Seems to graceful and elegant. Who would have known a machine could be?

You would never have called an excavator graceful would you?

@Fleura I would not. I love big machines but would have called them rugged and strong.

Who would have thought you could ever call the movements of a digger 'graceful' or even 'touching'?

@Fleura But once the evening draws to a close you can’t really take it home for a night of passion.

Wow, that is really cool. I saw a performance and it must have been on YouTube somewhere of four bobcats doing a 'dressage' quadrille. That was pretty amazing too.
