Talked to my 3 hr friend. They are having a big event in my home town. Every 3rd Monday in October, they have October Court Day. It started back when people would come to town to go to court. They started bringing stuff to sell and trade.NOW, there are hundreds of vendors, music, and they still bring stuff to sell and trade, but not it isn't just on Monday..it actually starts on Friday. They used to bring dogs, horses, and firearms, but the stockyard is no longer close to town. I lived with my grandmother in a house on the main road to town. People would pass our house carrying rifles and hunting dogs to trade or sell. My grandmother would park cars in the yard. My friend said last year she wanted a Blooming Onion and a Funnel Cake. Her daughter called her from downtown and said they were going for $12 a piece. She turned them down. Anyway..I used to love October Court Day, but not sure I would even go if I lived there days. Later I went to Walmart (close to the Old house) and then to Piggly Wiggly. Stopped at Popeyes and saw I could get a 10 piece Meal for less than 2 Three piece meals. So we had Popeyes tonight for supper. Taking tomorrow off..no shopping...no laundry..just enjoying the day.
