The Rare Skill of Thinking

There was a time people were in control of their own brains. They were capable of making their own decisions. Yes, there was a minority of sheep who followed their Massa, but most people were actually capable of making their own decisions.
There was a time people could actually do their own research. Whether it was going to a library, asking a professional, or walking to shop to prove an item was selling for a strange price.
There was a time people had to have particular qualifications or experience before people believed their statements.
That time is ended.
Today, people are owned by their 'influencers'; these are scammers who know how to control their 'followers' just as a Judas goat knows how to lead sheep into the slaughterhouse.
These people do not accept facts, do not consider options, if their 'owner' says 'the cow jumped over the moon', that is godspel, and no one can dissuade them.
With so many people who are incapable of independent thought, with so many sheep easily led, the future is looking bleak.

Yesterday's protests have somewhat restored my faith in Humanity. As for your question, which I interpret as: "Where did critical thinking go?" I could do several posts about it. Do people read less? Has the internet made people lazy? Do some people WANT to be a sheep ,not a goat? (I'd rather be a dolphin.) I do not know. I finna look this up:

I also felt the protests were proving not everyone is a MAGAt. Today the ability to do research... not get up and go to library, but sit at the computer and check sources, should make us more intelligent. It hasn't. People are stupider today, more easily led.
Perfect example
A doctor in Eng. named Wakefield wanted to introduce his own MMR. He got some pals together to start the rumor that the MMR causes autism.
He was brought before the court, he and his pals were disbarred, fined, sent to jail. For the MMR doesn't cause autism.
Now people today will tell you the MMR causes autism for despite the fact it was disproven, that a prublic trial was held to disprove it, they belive it because their owners tell them to.

Yes, it is. I hope that Trump will leave office and things will get back to some bit of reality and goodness again. It sure seems a long way off and there will be so much to repair after he leaves. These sheep you speak of are a pathetic crew. But, I try to look at things like the protests and how many people are a part of them. We need some fighters up on the hill. The ones who are there don't seem to be doing enough.

@jaylar .........Brainwashing is alive and well it seems. One politician said it is time Democrats got nasty like the Republicans are.
