Police officers in Harford County Maryland responded to emergency calls from concerned animal lovers who saw an alligator who had its mouth shut and abandoned outside of a reptile shop on Thursday October 23.
When the police officers arrived at the reptile shop, they called s local reptile rescue for assistance.
The local reptile officials took the alligator away from the scene of the incident to a local zoo or another home since despite the cold weather, the alligator is alive.
I am wondering what runs though the minds of anyone who has an alligator as a pet if they do not care enough to take care of them,

What is the purpose of alligators in the first place?

First of all Alligators should be in wild and not be used as pets.
Yet, if one has kept them as a Pet, it should be their duty to protect them.
Anyways good job by the responding officers.

You are right since only persons who work in a gator farm are qualified to work with gator and not regular persons.

Reminds me of the Planet Of The Apes movies when the ape was just a baby, he was okay. As the ape got older, the ape was too much for his owner to deal with.

My first thought about your post was who in the world owns an alligator in the northern part of our country? That is not their typical habitat.
People who want wild animals as pets are hard to understand. I mean I love all types of cats, but would never consider owning a tiger, lion, cheetah, or jaguar.
I hope the alligator finds a good place to call home.

I also hope that the gator finds a new home.

That was mean to leave a gator with its mouth taped shut in the cold. I'm glad he was found.

I am in agreement with you that alligators who have their jaws shut by their former owner is uncalled for.

The alligator seems to be smiling as wide as the Police officer's smile too. Maybe it was glad to be rescued.

Most likely the alligator was happy to be free indeed.
