Oh What a Night

We sat up a table in front of the garage door. Put up a Silver cardboard Skeleton taller than me and a Ghost. Took the 5 armed floor lamp from my office and placed it so it shone on the table. We had 2 plastic things that make eerie sounds. One was skulls and the other was a Ghost. The Ghost actually worked really good, but the Skull one only made sounds if you turned it on. The Ghost would make eerie sounds wheneve there was movement.
At first it didn't look like there were going to be very many kids, but then it started up really good. But the best one was a little girl just dressed in pink. She was maybe 3 at the most. She got some candy out of the bowl, and her mom tried to get her to say Trick or Treat and then Thank You, but she wasn't wanting to do either. THEN the Ghost started up and She started bubbling and pointing, and said THANK YOU as they left. The smile and the happy look on her face pointing at the Ghost and her babbling and jumping was just so cute. Made our Night.
We almost ran out of candy. There were some older kids walking around didn't have baskets or bags, just took candy and ate it as they walked away.
But the other Good part was that the kids didn't grab a lot of candy, they took 1 or 2, said thank you, and 2 of them said God Bless You.
There were Golf Carts decorated taking kids around. Just a fun night. I haven't given out candy anywhere I lived since I was a teenager. Just love this community.
Tom made Chili and that is what we had for supper. It had been cooking in the crock pot all afternoon.

I miss handling out. But we are to far out for people to stop. That little girl sounds adorable. I always enjoyed seeing what they came up with.

I used to enjoy giving out candy to the little kids.
