A bird almost flew into my house.

Earlier today, while collecting the radio and George's soda from the front porch, a white bird flew at me, landing on our roof. Back when we lived at the Breakers, there was a pond where ducks often frequented. If people with ground floor apartments weren't careful, ducks would walk into their homes. The'd tried on us when we lived there, too. So, this morning, I wouldn't have been surprised if the bird did fly in my front door. Animals around here aren't afraid of people or afraid of traffic. Yesterday, George hit the break because two birds decided to walk in front of our van. I love animals, but this is.... nuts.

A mallard knocked on my front door. I think he was pecking around for bugs. Birds in the house will go nuts to get out.

Depends on the type of bird. Pet birds, not so much. The Ducks that live on the pond at the Breakers, will walk into ground floor appartments, and not think twice about it.

Yeah, I know they do. but we're at fault. We built our cities around their land, they had no choice.

@kaylachan I put some bird houses on my front porch so they would be out of the weather for the winter & I seen 1 has already made her nest in it.

I’m glad he was able to avoid hitting them.

Me, too. It's almost never good when you have to slam on a break. But, I've had to stop for ducks in the road.... and I was in a wheelchair.

@shaggin Apparently they don't. Many die because they fly right into glass windows.

A bird actually flew into my son and daughter in laws house and freaked them out. They did get it out but I don't know the details with how they got it out.

I also love animals, but sometimes they are invading our "privacy". I had ducks coming in when we had the garden with a pond.
