Could There Be a Connection Between These Two Famous Murder Cases?

I watched a favorite true crime content creator's, Bailey Sarian, on You Tube this morning and she had ended her episode with a possible connection between the H.H.Holmes (Murder Castle) case in Chicago. and the Jack the Ripper case in London UK. Here's the possibility: Herman Mudgett aka H.H.Holmes descendant, Jeff Mudgett, thinks that Herman is also Jack the Ripper. Why? Because there is some evidence to back his theory up and here it is: Herman left quite a paper trail in all his moving across the U.S. and his dastardly deeds. There was a strange lapse in this paperwork between mid 1888 and early 1890. This was the exact period when Jack the Ripper was on his murder spree in London. And, the oddest thing is that ship records show a 'H.Holmes' on a passenger ship returning to the U.S. from London soon after the final Ripper murder. (How many Holmes were there in the world in the 1880s anyway?) Jack the Ripper was active in London from April 1888 until February 1891. H. H. Holmes was active in Chicago from 1886 to 1894. Could some of the dates have been wrong? Also, something to note about murderers is that if they are allowed to continue to kill over a period of years, they perfect and change their craft to meet their sick and perverted needs. So, could the slaughter of the five women in London have been the beginning of Holmes madness which he culminated into the Murder Castle exploits in Chicago? H.H. Holmes was hung at the prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 7, 1896 for the murder of his accomplice Benjamin Pitezel.
