In bengal winter has not set in. But in the beginning of winter the vegetables are growing bigger. The bottlegourd is growing fatter and rounder, the bittergourd are growing bigger. Bottlegourd is called lau in bengali, lauki in hindi. The brinjals and ladies fingers are also bigger. there is a kind of beans we call it bengali beans and called barbati used in vegetables.

Most veggies die in our winter. It's just too cold for them to grow. I'm glad you can still get fresh veggies during your winter.

I love vegetables of all kinds. And all that you have mentioned are my favorite ones. I have ordered barbati from one organic farm. I should get it delivered tomorrow morning .

They do look fabulous. I like the look of that Lauki(Bottle gourd).
One Bottle gourd has been in our Fridge since many days.
May be its turn would come now.
